L’Oreal (LRLCY) is recalling all lots of its acne treatment Effaclar Duo in the U.S. due to concern that the creams are contaminated with benzene, a known carcinogen, Bloomberg’s Anna Edney reports. The recall was prompted by testing that found trace levels of benzene in one lot of the product, and an improved formulation of Effaclar Duo will be available soon. Valisure, an independent lab, had previously flagged benzene contamination in many popular benzoyl peroxide products, including those from Proactiv and store brands from Target (TGT) and CVS Health (CVS).
